Wedding Weigh in Number 1

I've been a little lax in posting my weight loss progress in the last few weeks. It's been a busy time, what with work and appointments for both weddings. However, it hasn't put me off my weight loss attempt and I'm very happy to say that at my last weigh in I was 10 stone 11.5 lbs!!

I'm willing to bet that I haven't been under 11stone for over 15 years. I was a heavy girl in my late teens, and my last weight loss attempt only took me to 11 stone so I'm pretty pleased with myself. I feel better. My size 14 clothes are even becoming loose, which is a flipping miracle. I never thought I'd see the day where I would be contemplating buying a size 12!

So since I started I have lost 1 stone 6.5lbs. I have reached my goal for wedding number one (which is tomorrow!!). I would like to lose a little more, but I would like to tone up too. I don't anticipate losing anymore by my sisters wedding next week, but I'm hoping the weight loss will continue after the weddings are over.

I've not really been taking any photos to show my weight loss, but I feel it's really showing in my face, so here's a sort of before:

And after:

The Gallery: My View Right Now

Its lunch time. I'm six hours into my shift and six hours and fifteen minutes away from my annual leave. Not that I'm counting. It's busy. More than busy. It's hectic. My feet ache, my knee is a little swollen, my back hurts. And this is my view:

Not exactly picturesque, but it sure is quiet. This is the "staff room". Technically it's a small kitchen with a couple of plastic chairs. Not exactly a haven away from the madness of the ward, but peaceful enough to have my lunch.

Tomorrow my view will be much better than this. Tomorrow my view will be my family.

Sunshine and Family Time

Gosh, the weather has been beautiful this week hasn't it? We've been very lucky having wall to wall sunshine for a few days in a row, and it has definitely made it easier to keep the Wee One entertained.  I happened to be off work yesterday, and instead of sticking to playing out in the back garden, the Wee One and I headed up to Calderglen Park for the morning. Their little zoo is perfect for amusing young kids in the smashing weather, but their gardens are glorious to sit in too.

As if spending the morning running around the park didn't give us enough fresh air, when the Husband came home from work we jumped in the car and headed down the coast to Troon Beach. It's amazing that 40 minutes drive down the coast can give you this view:

This was the first time we've taken the Wee One to the beach. She wasn't too convinced by the sand at first, but I think that was just because she'd fallen asleep in the car on the way down and she'd woken up grumpy. But it didn't take too long before she was paddling away in the water with her daddy.

The view in Troon is absolutely gorgeous. I could happily sit at the sea and gaze out into the water all day long. It's so pretty.

The sea air certainly makes you weary, but the wee one seemed full of energy and spotted a bouncy castle, on which she spent about forty five minutes bouncing away quite happily (not bad for £1.50 a shot!).  We only stayed for a couple hours before heading home, but not before taking the obligatory family selfie:

The Gallery: The Great Outdoors

We are very lucky to live in a place that's really only 10 minutes drive from any sort of countryside.

The Loch at Stewartfield is one of my most favourite places. Although it's by a main road and technically in the middle of a town, I find it's still one of the most peaceful places to be.

The wee one loves the Loch too. We've been feeding the ducks and picking buttercups.

I'm writing this post from a park bench at the loch and this is my my current view.

You really can't get much better than that.

The Gallery: A Younger Me

Looking back at photos of me from my teenage years, I absolutely refuse to post any of them. They are awful. Those years are BGHDS - Before GHD Straighteners. My hair was wild. I have naturally curly hair, but I have never embraced it, and have always tried to wear it straight.

So I decided to go for the cute factor.

My hair was SO RED. It still is right enough, but it's darkened down a wee bit now that I'm older.

But my favourite photo of a slightly uou her me is this:

Pluto and I. I am 22 in this photo.
I have been embracing my inner child since 1983, and I'm not about to change anytime soon.
