A Knitting Post!

It's been a long while since I've been able to knit properly. The first proper piece of knitting I have done since the wee one was born was a gift for a friend who has just had a baby. Stupidly, I didn't think to take any photos of it to post on the blog.

It is hard getting the time to knit, as the wee one takes up most of my daylight hours, and if I do get any knitting out she wants to play with the yarn, or pull at my needles. So I have to wait until she is asleep to get anything done. Which makes finishing projects that much longer.

However, recently I have been working on a MacBook cover for my good friend Don. Trying to find a decent pattern for one is hard, and I do not have the mathematical nor artistic brain to create one myself. I finally found one over on Busy Fingers blog here:

We're doing it in red and white (Stokes football colours, I believe). I'm hoping to have it finished for mid march, when I get to see Don next. Hopefully this is the start of getting my knitting mojo back.

Here's how it's going so far:

I haven't blogged for a while. I've been back at work since November, so thats taking up all my energy. I also feel like I haven't really had much to say, other than posting pictures of the wee one, I'm not knitting anything interesting, and nothing incredibly interesting has happened. Apart from the wee one turning one in January. I can't believe she's one. A whole year!

We just had a small party for family and friends in the house. The kids all played well, and there was much cake!

The wee one has turned into an amazing little person. She's walking everywhere; my husband has had to move the furniture and baby gates have been put up, but she still gets into everything. She's talking up a storm, (can't get her to shut up mostly), and words are coming thick and fast. Favourites are "bye bye", "mine", "book", "bag" "my bag", "peas", "nana" (as in banana), "up", "down", "baby" and most recently "Manny" and "Minnie". I think we watch far too much Disney Jr!

Books have become very popular with her, she loves to turn the pages and sometimes listens to the story. We love the Gruffalo in Scots!

She has 4 teeth, 2 top, 2 bottom, but more are on the way. She's the most snotty face, red cheeked baby! Poor girl.

Hopefully the teeth will come in soon. And hopefully I'll have more interesting things to say soon!
